Due to its speed and efficiency, UFS is the preferred storage solution in smartphones, tablets, automotive systems, and embedded devices. We provide comprehensive testing, including Power Efficiency and Flash Storage, to ensure that your UFS devices deliver fast, reliable, and energy-efficient data storage and transfer.
UFS Properties We Test
Our UFS testing focuses on evaluation serveral critical aspects of storage performance and compliance:
| Parameter | What We Test |
|---|---|
| Data Transfer Speed |
Verifying read and write speeds to ensure
devices meet UFS standard rates. |
| Power Efficiency |
Assessing the power efficiency of UFS
during different operating modes for
optimal energy management. |
| Protocol Compliance |
													Ensuring correct data handling and
adherence to UFS protocols for seamless
operation. |
| Interoperability |
Testing compatibility across a variety of
devices, operating systems, and
controllers. |
| Error Handling and Recovery |
Ensuring the device can manage data
errors effectively to prevent data loss or
corruption. |
Implement method of UFS Testing
We use a range of advanced testing methods to validate UFS devices:

Common Devices Under Test
Products commonly tested for UFS physical layer signal integrity include:
| Device | Properties |
|---|---|
| Smartphone SoCs (Application Processors) |
To verify the high-speed data interfaces integrated into mobile chipsets. |
| UFS Controller Chips |
To ensure the controller can manage data flow reliably at Gbps speeds. |
| UFS Storage Devices (UFS NAND) |
To test the embedded flash memory components for stable performance. |
| Storage Modules (e.g., UFS Cards or BGA-packaged Modules) |
To evaluate the integrity and compatibility of modular storage solutions. |
| UFS Interfaces in Automotive Infotainment Systems |
To ensure reliable high-speed storage connections in in-vehicle entertainment and information systems. |
UFS Test Standards
The main test standards for UFS physical layer testing include:
| Standard | Properties |
|---|---|
| Electrical Characteristics |
Such as voltage swing, signal levels, and impedance matching to ensure proper electrical performance. |
| Timing Parameters |
Including data setup time, hold time, and clock skew to verify that timing requirements are met. |
| Signal Integrity |
Tests like eye diagram quality, jitter, and crosstalk to assess the stability and quality of high-speed signals. |
| Environmental Requirements |
Considering the effects of temperature, humidity, and power supply noise on signal performance and test results. |
What is UFS ?
The UFS flash memory standard is supported by consumer electronics companies such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. UFS is being promoted as a substitute for eMMCs and SD cards. Unlike eMMC, UFS is based on the SCSI architectural model and it also provides support for SCSI Tagged Command Queuing. The standard is developed by the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association.
UFS also introduces features such as multiple queues, command reordering, and power gating that increase performance and power efficiency. It is already released in different versions. At CLUDE-LION, we offer a full range of testing from UFS2.0-4.0
